Dr. Benjamin D. Allen Lower Limb Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr Benjamin Allen MBBS, FRACS (Orth), FAOrthA joined the Wakefield Orthopaedic Clinic in 2006 after completing his Orthopaedic Training in Adelaide.

He undertook a fellowship in knee and hip arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty surgery at St George’s Hospital London, UK followed by the AOA Knee Fellowship in Melbourne, gaining invaluable experience in knee replacement surgery, sports knee injuries and ACL reconstruction in elite athletes.

Ben specialises in Knee and Hip replacement surgery, with a special interest in revision knee replacement surgery for metal allergy complications.

He also specialises in Sports knee injuries and ACL reconstruction helping both professional and amateur athletes return to sport, including the Norwood football club. He has a particular interest in managing knee injuries in dance athletes. Ben is passionate about arthritis management of the knee and hip to keep people mobile and active in the community.

Ben spends his spare time enjoying running, bush walking, mountain biking and road cycling and understands the importance of maintaining joint health through a multidisciplinary approach working closely with the Wakefield Sports and Exercise Medicine Clinic. He consults and operates at the Calvary Adelaide Hospital, Wallaroo Hospital and Naracoorte Hospital with additional consulting at Golden Grove.
